And in this approach, the 2nd instance of WasPartExtended was updating the first WasPartExtended in the form so that when you submit your form, the 2nd one will overwrite the first one and then submit to SharePoint. Anyway, would you be able to attach a copy or a sample of your form so I could have an idea of what isn't working for you?
I would suggest adding an action rule to the second button before submitting the form. For the action, set the value of the previous "Was part Extended" to the value of the new "Was part Extended".

Your rule should look similar to this:

Hope this helps.

Different section, same field

Hello!

So I am in the process of making a form using InfoPath 2007, and I will be publishing it to SharePoint afterward.

My form is made of multiple sections, "filled at different times through the process" and some sections have repetitive questions like "Was part Extended (Y/N), date of Extension".

Since I will be publishing this form on SharePoint, eventually I will have a column for each field, therefore If I have the question "Was part Extended" asked 3 times, I will therefore have 3 columns on SharePoint under the same title. "Was Part Extended". Note: I will have a submit button after each section, and once the submit button is clicked, the form closes!

Let's assume I clicked submit on the first section, and at a later time, I reopened the form to fill a new section that is exactly similar to one already filled.

My question here is: How can I allow the new field "Was part Extended" in the second section to overwrite the same field in the previous section "Was part Extended", therefore, I will have only one column in SharePoint reflecting the last input update.

Hopefully my question is clear enough :)

Thanks in advance!
