I don't see anywhere near 5 seconds when we do the same technique on a VM located in a Seattle server. The VM is not hugely endowed, so it baffles the mind to think yours takes 35 seconds. We may want to run Fiddler on it to see why it is being so pathetically slow. My guess is that something else is going on.

Re: is it possible to throw a message during submit that does not require an OK response?

It takes about 35 seconds. No Qrules or DBXL ....in that respect its a simple form but the form has multiple views with code behind. I'm using your double-submit technique to create a unique ID column so the "Saving..." dialog appears...then goes away....wait wait (nothing but a blank screen)...then Saving dialog appears again, then my custom "Thank you your form has been submitted" dialog appears.

Re: is it possible to throw a message during submit that does not require an OK response?

Hi Doreen,

How long is the wait? Should be pretty fast to submit/close/whatever, no?

You could put some guidance text beneath the submit button telling users that the operation may take X seconds. Still, should be instantaneous if submitting to DBXL.

Let us know more details.

Thanks!

is it possible to throw a message during submit that does not require an OK response?

I'd like a message to warn user to wait...but I don't want the rules to stop running until the user clicks ok. That makes the wait even longer....
