You need a rule that sets the area field to your secondary SharePoint list data source using the filters. In other words, if your SharePoint list has an "Area" you need to set your main data source area (the one that is the combobox) equal to the secondary Area filtered by Title and Name. Your filter is pretty close, but Department should not be in quotes. That should also point to a secondary data source lookup.

It's totally doable.

Drop-down list selecting a specific value based on a GetUserProfileByName

Hi, this is my first post! :)

I have a infopath form that in load form, load the name, department and telephone number.
I have a combobox / drop-down that "Get choices from a external data source" (SharePoint list).

I want to that combobox automatically choose a item based in a department from GetUserProfileByName.

If I set a action in Load Form to "Set a field value" like: Value[Name = "Department"]] from GetUserProfileByName, the combobox populate items from SharePoint list and above put the Department from GetUserProfileByName.

So, I try this: area[Title = Value[Name = "Department"]] (where area is the combobox, Title is the department from SharePoint list)

What I want is that the combobox select a populated item based on a query.

This is possible?

Thanks!
