If you only have one approver, you could always hardcode the condition.... in the dialog to build the condition, you can change the first drop down to "The expression" and enter something like this:

xdUser:get-UserName() = "hilary"

But, you know, with your user's User Name in there - and if you don't know what case that will be returned in, you may need to add a translate function.

Re: Submitting a read only version of the InfoPath 2010 form

If I can add on to this question... I was able to have the view change based on the Status as you noted above. Is it possible to have it switch views based on a specific user opening the form? In other words, I have the form submitting to a Library in SharePoint. When the requestor opens the submitted form to look at it, they get a read only view. When the approver looks at the form, they need to have another view that includes fields specific to only them. Is that possible? Right now, I've shown her how to switch views on her own, but she is not happy with the extra step... Thanks!

Re: Submitting a read only version of the InfoPath 2010 form

Hi again,

You can add a read-only view to your InfoPath form and add a rule on load that switches to this view if a form's field is equal to a certain value (for example, if Status = "Submitted"). You can also switch to this view before you email the form so that they don't get something in the Outlook email view. You'll still need a rule when the form loads to switch them to a read only view. You can copy your existing view (ctrl-a, switch to new view, ctrl v) anmd set view properties to read-only in 2010.

For SharePoint, I recommend creating a simple reusable SharePoint workflow with an Impersonation step that removes the item permissions for the submitted form.

All easy and quickly doable,

Submitting a read only version of the InfoPath 2010 form

Hi,

I have several forms which are submited to emais.

The forms which are submitted can actually be edited once they have been emailed. Is there any way of having a read only form submitted?

I also have forms which are submitted to a sharepoint library. The same issue with this is there a way of having a read only version submitted?

Thank you
