Using buttons to implement Save and Submit and disabling the built-in File-> options is a best practice. Bravo to you.

Save should always save even if there is a validation error. To achieve this, you need to clear the errors in the form. You can use qRules ClearErrors command to do this.

Submit should be disabled on Save since the user could have saved with invalid data and you don't want to allow a submit after the errors have been cleared.

I'm attaching a sample. Email me if you have Q.

Associating built-in Submit Options

Hello and thanks for reading,

Is there a way to associate the built-in submit options (this allows success/error messages) with a custom button I created for the form? Using InfoPath 2010

Update:

The question is incorrectly stated - the reason I asked this silly question was because of my issue with the form. I have custom buttons (submit and save) on the form, when a user "submits" the button disappears and my "save" button appears no matter if the user correctly filled out the form or not. I want to "Submit" button to stay visable when they incorrectly (validation errors) fill out the form and hides when they do correctly fill out the form. I'd like to have the built-in submit success/error messages presented to the user.

Thanks
