Thanks for answering. The table format and questions in it are kindof set in stone, so I had to do it with that simple table.

I solved it, by placing a footer in the repeating table with two textboxes for each column (both textboxes are read only). The first field concatenates all values in the column above, resulting in a ;-delimited output. The second textbox checks if the first field contains specific items and has output created by rules.

Re: Answer hierarchy in a repeating table

How did you solve it?

I'm attaching a sample that shows table indenting. Not sure if it is relevant but thought you might be interested.

Re: Answer hierarchy in a repeating table

It has been solved...

Answer hierarchy in a repeating table

Hi all,

I'm kinda new to creating infopath forms and can't program at all. At this moment I'm creating a form which contains a repeating table. I'm trying to do the following using just formulas :

The table contains a column (CM2-Ta), which can contain "Yes", "No", "Unknown" or blank. In the footer of the repeating table I have placed a text box (CM2-TaResult) that must automatically be filled based on the answers of the column. If the CM2-Ta column contains one or more "Yes", CM2-TaResult = "Yes". If "Yes" is not present then if CM2-Ta contains one or more "Unknown" or blanks, CM2-TaResult = "Unknown". Else, CM2-Ta = "No"

So I'm trying to establish a hierarchy in which Yes > Unknown/blank > No and the CM2-TaResult field to generate the highest found in the hierarchy as output.

Anyone know how I can do this?
