figured out a fix...broke it out into 2 different rules

MailStop is blank AND

DocumentView = "General"

as well as

MailStop is blank AND

DocumentView = "Help Desk"

Values for field carry over to next view, but rules are ignoring the present text?

Good morning, hope this is a quick one.

I have a mailstop field I'm trying to add a validation rule to.

MailStop is blank AND

DocumentView = "General" OR

DocumentView = "Help Desk"

So if the general view enters text in the MailStop field, the form can be submitted. But then on the next task (Help Desk) you can see the text in that field, but as soon as the form loads, it has the red outline like it's already failing the validation. And if you try and submit on the Help Desk view, it gives the validation error.

What am I missing? Many thanks!
