Assuming you designed your InfoPath form from your Access database, you should be able to convert the main data source to update it to the latest Access value. Go to data connections and select the main data connection and there should be an option to convert. I believe this option shows up on the file menu in InfoPath 2007.

I recommend changing access to use a string data type first. That will be correctly "inferred" by InfoPath and should work fine as a primary key. You can calculate it in InfoPath as a number by just using logic that first converts it to a number using the number() function.

Good luck!

Validation Errors

I have created an InfoPath form to connect to an Access Database. In the database, I have a field called "Account Number" and have added the field to my InfoPath form. I will use the form to submit entries into the database. My problem is that the account numbers sometimes contain a decimal. I originally had my database field set as a Number field (long integer/general number). When I tried to submit the form, I got a validation error because my InfoPath form doesn't like the decimal. I have tried changing the database field to short integer, decimal and text but get the same issue. I have also gone into the text box properties, in my InfoPath Form, but it won't let me change the Data Type. It says "optional_int".

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
