Thanks for your help. Not sure why, but when I set the Postback Settings to Always for each of the Time fields, it seemed to work correctly....very strange.

Users are happy now, so I won't try and engineer a more logical approach unless it breaks!

Thanks

Re: Time Value Updated When Form is Submitted

Could you check the Rule/Logic Inspector? I would suspect there's another rule somewhere, on submit, that is overwriting the previously set value of the time the other button was clicked.

Another issue might be that the Complete and Time are within a repeating table. If the button to label a task as complete lies outside of the repeating table, then clicking Complete is probably setting the value of ALL the rows, not just one.

If neither of these two address the issue, feel free to attach the form template (via the Options tab) and I can take a quick look.

Thanks.

Time Value Updated When Form is Submitted

Hi,

I have an InfoPath 2007 form, which is used as a checklist for users throughout the day. The logic is as follows

User clicks a button control.

Complete (Yes / No) field is updated to Yes. (this field is hidden)

Thisn update then also updates a Time Value in another field with the formula: substring-after(now(), "T")

Meaning when a user clicks a button, it marks a task as complete and sets the current time. If the user clicks the button again, it clears all of this data.

Problem is, when I actually submit the form; the time values are all updated with the submission time, not the time the button was clicked.

Any ideas? Thanks...Rob
