You probably don't need to have the Default Edit form web part. Best practice is just to have the form update the value and have the workflow condition a set of steps based on that setting's value.

Form Submission - User Choices for Workflow

Hi,

This issue deals with

I currently have a form, and I have a workflow. Both work great. The problem I'm having is getting the workflow to be flexible, but also fool proof.

Currently, we areusing an "Infopath Form" and a "Default Edit Form" web part. The Infopath Form is used to enter form data. The Default Edit form is used to set workflow setting (like "approved", "unapproved", "recipient", etc.)

The issue I have with this format is that - currently - the only way to access the Edit Form is for the user to first open the Infopath Form, Submit it, and then remember to open the Default Edit Form, and set the status settings.

Is there a way to "link" to the Default Edit Form web part when the Infopath Form is submitted? This way, the user will not "forget" to open the Default Edit form and update the workflow settings.

Any other recommendations are welcome too! Perhaps programming a button would work? How is this done?

Best,

JF
