I currently am developing a form that has multiple dropdown lists in various places. The values are whole numbers, with a text descriptor, for example, a value may be 10 while what displays is "Total impact is negilgible". These values are used to calculate a weight to what type of impact a solution may have. The default value is blank, with Select one... as the description. I need this to enforce selection of the dropdown list value if a particular section is chosen. On the actual value that accumulates the dropdown values, I simply add them together in the default value. The dropdown lists are not in any type of repeating table either.

My problem is when the form is opened and before any of the dropdowns are chosen, the overall value reads NaN. Under rules, I can't choose null either. Once a value is chosen, everything's OK. How can I get past the NaN display when the form opens?

Thanks in advance.
