Create a data connection to the list. Use the title field for you domain\username credentials.

Then conditionally format the section, based on title and a current user field on form load.

Re: Field Visibility configuration in InfoPath designer 2010 based on SharePoint user groups

Perhaps allow passwords...

Create a textbox for username and passwords and set the conditional formatting to

Username not equal to.... and list a load of usernames and then

Password not equal to.... and the passwords.

Then hide this control.

Or, if you prefer, do username is equal to..... hide this control. I do this for some of my infopath forms as I work for my local council so only certain users must access certain parts of the form.

This might work, it depends on what version of InfoPath you are using... Not sure if this answers your question or not but hope it helps. :p

Field Visibility configuration in InfoPath designer 2010 based on SharePoint user groups

Hi All,

I hope this is a peculiar requirement.

It goes like this...

Whenever a designer designs an Infopath form, he/she must have a provision to set few fields in the form visible only to specific user groups in SharePoint.

If we use the in-built conditional formatting for setting/configuring the visibility of a field, we cannot set/configure the visibility based on user groups of sharepoint.

So, how to provide the designer this visibility configuration facility in InfoPath designer based on sharepoint user groups?

Please, kindly share your valuable suggestions and ideas to accomplish this requirement.

Many Thanks in advance!
