I tried what you said but i couldn't make it work. I was searching another guide and found this that works better and faster than the one i was using. Here is the link if someone needs to do this in the future: http://sharepointlk.blogspot.com.ar/2009/06/how-to-use-cascading-dropdown-list.html

Tips:

• When you are creating the XPath string what it really says is:
string XPathString = repeatingNode + "[@" + foreignKey + "!='" + selectedMainValue+ "']";
I didn't see the " ' " in there and spent several hours until i figured that out, just copy what i wrote above.

• There is a missing line in the last while, it should be:

                 while (items.Count != 0)
                {
                    xnFD.SelectSingleNode(XPathString, this.NamespaceManager).DeleteSelf();
                    items = xnFD.Select(XPathString, this.NamespaceManager);
                }

Re: Web Cascade List with Repeating Table

Hi Codere and welcome!

There are lots of examples on InfoPathDev showing how to do filtered cascading lists. Greg Collins has a sample in the downloads area from many years that shows this technique too.

The challenge with browser forms is that 2007 doesn't support some of the filtering options (for example, preceding-sibling function) so you have to use rules and FilterOwssvr to trigger it - like you are doing based on that article.

So, why isn't this working for you when you reopen the form. Well, that's because it isn't running the query on reopen. This is easy to fix. Just add a FormLoad rule to your form that sets the filter for the State and queries that FilterOwssvr XML data connection.

That should be all you need.

Good luck!

Web Cascade List with Repeating Table

Hi i'm new to this forum! This is my first time posting here but i visit the forum almost everyday for help :)

I'm having this problem... I was following this guide: http://www.sharepoint-tips.com/2007/01/infopath-form-services-implementing.html to be able to use cascade list for web enabled form in InfoPath 2007. This worked great but the problem is that because each of the forms have to be created for only one "State" (I make it Read Only once saved, in a new view) when i reopen the form, the filter just doesn't work on the cities list (I can select all the cities from all States available and the same when i add an item). Is there a way to make this work everytime and not just when i change my State dropdown? Is there a better guide here in Infopath Dev?

Thanks in advance
