One question, however. I can add the InfoPath web part to the form I constructed, and a page viewer web part for the application site for conference center scheduling. How do I pass data between? When I try to connect the two sites, SP tells me they can't be connected. I have a boolean checkbox on the form that indicates the user wants to reserve a room. I'd like to hide the viewer web part until the form is submitted (which I have a boolean exposed for that as well) and the checkbox is checked. Am I looking at JQuery or Javascript for that?

Thanks as always.

Re: Open a web page upon form submission

Hi Tom and thanks again for posting,

The qRules OpenUrlInBrowser is not browser compatible.

I would recommend using Web parts for this with connections in between them. We covered this in Module 11 of class.

You can create a page with an InfoPath Web Part on top and a Content Web part underneath. The form on top sets fields that are promoted to the web part connections (output) and the page on the bottom is configured to get input from the top web part to use when displaying the page.

Of course, this may not look exactly like what you were hoping for... but worth a shot. You could have the InfoPath form switch to a separate view after submit with guidance text "Please use the control below to schedule your conference" or something like that.

Good luck!

Open a web page upon form submission

I'm wondering if there's a codeless, rules based method (qRules would be OK) that opens a web page when a browser based form is submitted to SharePoint.

Here's the scenario: a user fills out a form that has an optional checkbox. By checking the box, a conference center web application opens.

Conversely, if this can't be done, can I construct rules that fire, specifically submitting and closing the parent form to a SharePoint form library, when a hyperlink is clicked?

Thanks.
