Windows Xp users can create the Infopath form and save it with no issues. Windows 7 users get "Some rules are not applied, Access denied" error when they try to create a new form. But if I create the form a XP m/c for them, they can update the form from Windows 7.

The form is not browser enabled and opens in Infopath client. Because of some reasons internally, we cannot convert it to browser enabled. So I need to get this form working on windows 7. Any help or information will be greatly appreciated!

I have opened a tickert with microsoft and they are still looking at it.

Re: Infopath cannot save the form <-- Narrowed down to XP / Win 7 issue

I lied, that did not solve the problem. The problem has something to do with Office 2010 and Office 2007.

Other users and I can use the submit button and save the form the first time, but going back in and make a change and saving only works in InfoPath 2010. 2007 spits that error.

is there a patch out there we missed?

Re: Infopath cannot save the form <-- Narrowed down to XP / Win 7 issue

Glad to hear you solved your problem. Windows can be quirky that way, I've had problems with InfoPath in the past that were also solved by a reboot, sorry I didn't think to recommend that!

Re: Infopath cannot save the form <-- Narrowed down to XP / Win 7 issue

I have several data connections, one is using a sharepoint list as an XML connection, one looks up a sharepoint list directly... For some reason, it worked after a reboot, no explanation. Thank you for the responses. And Windows 7 definitely has some quirks when it comes to InfoPath and data connections.

Re: Infopath cannot save the form <-- Narrowed down to XP / Win 7 issue

Make sure you don't use a access denied location to save your files. especially in windows 7

Re: Infopath cannot save the form <-- Narrowed down to XP / Win 7 issue

How is your save data connection set up? Where are you saving the form to?

Infopath cannot save the form <-- Narrowed down to XP / Win 7 issue

Wasted the day working on data connections but now think the error below is a Win7 / XP issue. The form submits great, but when a user with Windows 7 tries saving an existing form using the Save icon in the toolbar, it spits out there error below.
