I have tried exactly that solution - however when I set a filter - username from list 1 does not equal username from list 2 hide this control - it does not work - the list either displays all the entries or none. It doesn't seem to recognize that the user as a query/filter for the second list. I am applying the filter to the repeating control of list 2. Any further insights you have will be much appreciated.

Re: Want to group and display data in an InfoPath Form

Sounds like you need some nested repeating sections for this. Basically you have a repeating section/table for list 1 with all the users. Then create another repeating section/table inside the first one that will iterate through list 2 with all the entries. This way you'll have all the entries displayed for the current user for that instance. All you need to do is now to filter or query the entries table based on the user for that row.

Want to group and display data in an InfoPath Form

I have two lists - a list of users and a list of entries(training modules the user has completed) for each user . I would like to display this data in my InfoPath form in the following way:

Bruce Wayne

Training Module 1 08/09/12
Training Module 2 09/09/12

Richard Grayson

Training Module 1 09/15/12
Training Module 3 09/20/15

etc. for all the users in the my two lists.

I've made the data connections to both lists and am using repeating table but can only get the data to display in the following way:

Bruce Wayne Training Module 1 08/09/12
Bruce Wayne Training Module 2 08/09/12
Richard Grayson Training Module 1 09/15/12
Richard Grayson Training Module 2 09/20/12

Any help would be much appreciated.
