What Happens: I can start a new form and sign it (we use digital signatures) and even submit it. But once it's submitted and on Sharepoint, at any point after that, on open it will crash.

Here are a few things we know about the whole ordeal:

1) We never had a problem until SP3 updates. But it's not just a SP3 problem. Before, since the updates weren't critical, we simply rolled back the SP3 updates so it could work. But just recently, a security update (KB2596856) was put out and it also upgrades msxml5.dll to a newer version as well, resulting in the same issue. We don't want to avoid this update, seeing as it's a issue of security and who knows when they'll put out another update that does the same thing anyway.

2) It has to deal with the version of msxml5.dll on the system. Version 5.20.1087.0 works perfectly. But anything after that gives us issues.

3) If we submit the form without signing any signature, then we're able to open the form from Sharepoint. But if the form is signed in any way, it will not open after being submitted. We have even removed the digital signatures, and added a test signature which we tried out, in case just something funky was going on. But it had the same results. Sign it, submit it, and it won't open.

4) Lastly, we've found this forum post:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2007-infopath/infopath-2007-crashes-after-sp3-installation/1f59b037-32e0-421c-8d40-c817d891383f?msgId=7bc1c9ea-3ac4-4822-b6c0-f93990cca646

Which is having the exact same problems as us.

Anyone have a clue at what this might be? We've tried everything we know of, short of recreating the entire form from scratch (it's quite large), which would be costly and is not guaranteed to solve anything.

Below is the crash information that InfoPath spits out.
