But since it does seem to work, I don't imagine you are doing any harm by it - do your existing XML then open with the new template? Or do you have to relink them?

Re: Updating an already published InfoPath 2007 form template with minor changes - do I need to re-publish or just upload using SP Designer?

Sorry Gennady.
I have to make some very minor changes to an existing InfoPath 2007 form template. There are no changes to promoted fields. While publishing to the production server, the server is timing out . I do not know the reason for this. However, I do not face the same problem in UAT. I do not have much support from the farm owners to get to the bottom of the root cause of why the form won't get published on production.

I do have a work method to deploy the updated InfoPath template, which appears to be working fine on UAT. This is what I have done.

1)Using SharePoint Designer, upload the modified InfoPath Form template (MyFormv2.xsn) to the Forms subfolder of the Form library.

2)Modify the Advanced Settings of the form library-->change the Document Template of the Form library setting so that MyFormv2.xsn is the new Template for editing.

Now, when an user attempts to create a new form or edit an existing one, the modified template will open up.

While this method works, I am not sure if I should use this on production. I would be delighted to hear your comments.

thanks,

Saurabh
