Are you using DBXL or qRules?

The concept is generally the same. You need to perform a search based on (in this case anyway) the user who has opened the form. If there is a form in the library that "belongs" to the current user, then you can show them a message or a link asking them to open that existing file instead of creating a new one.

If you're using DBXL, it's all documented step by step. Let me know and I can send you the document.

Otherwise, the key is to have a data connection that queries your existing data and then you can have form logic to detect if any of the records that were returned matches the current user.

Retrieve Existing Form

I think that's what I want to title this anyway...................

I am not sure if it's possible to do what I want, but here goes. I have a form that will be submitted repeatedly by some people (security badge request). This is what I would like to be able to do.

When the employee opens the form, they will be prompted to select if it is a new request or a replacement request. If it's new they will be sent to the next view and go from there. If it's a replacement request I would like to have it look for the existing form (hidden field set when the form opens to the username. Goal is to only have one for each user name in the library) and either automatically open the existing form or populate certain fields from the existing form into the new one and then when saved overwrite the existing one.

I will have a history view that will show each time the employee requests a replacement badge.

I have been told that this might be possible using Qdabra Transform, but even the sample that I am looking at doesn't make it clear if it's possible to do what I want.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
