I'm assuming that https is configured correctly, that the SharePoint site can be opened in Internet Explorer, no certificate issues, etc. If you need help making sure the server is set up correctly, please let us know.

The screenshot did not come thru correctly, but from the description it sounds like you got the following error message:

Error bootstrapping system doctypes
Client found response content type of 'text/html; charset=utf-8', but expected 'text/xml'.

The first thing I would recommend is to review the entire error recorded in the Event Viewer; it may
mention of <httpModules>. If it does, there's a solution in the installation guide and in the Release Notes. I won't add it here yet (it's a bit long) until you get a chance to check eventvwr. Let us know what you find. Thanks.

Re-Installation of DBXL: error 1001 concerning system doctypes (rollbacked)

Hi,

I had DBXL v2.5 successfully installed on a Windows 2008 R2 server last fall, then we/I had to change our Sharepoint 2010 server from http to https. The first change was made to move the Sharepoint site, then on to DBXL. I received an DBXL 2.6 version upgrade this week (still beginner version) and so uninstalled DBXL 2.5, then installed 2.6 and received this error. When I installed the DBXL 2.6 I had used a custom service account (Not Network Service) that is the same as my Sharepoint 80 service account - which is also part of the WSS-WPG group. I am running a single server that contains all of these: 1.) Sharepoint 2010 Farm, 2.) a separate content SQL Server 2008 R2 database, and 3.) DBXL.

I am not putting in anything for the DBXL Writers or DBXL Readers groups and have let the "global" checked. Does this have to do with certificates? Or specific access to any of the existing Qdbara databases that I left unchanged in SQL Server?

I appeciate any advice on this !
