What I was really hoping for was a conditional branch, but I guess that can't be done with rules?

Re: How to make a cancel option on a button which executes rules

Are there a lot of cases where you want to show a confirmation message in your form, or just 1 or 2? The simplest way to accomplish this functionality is to use conditional formatting to show a section in the form that says "Are you sure you want to do this?" with a Yes and No button. On the Yes button, you place the rules to carry out the action that is pending confirmation. On the No button, you place some rules to re-hide the confirmation section and reset any other values that you need to.

Would that work for you?

How to make a cancel option on a button which executes rules

Hi All

Does anyone know a way to make a cancel option on a button which is performing actions using rules? For example to bring up the infamous "Are you sure" dialog box before executing the actions?

In C# it it can be done with cancelable arguments, but I have a button which is executing a lot of actions using rules, and I don't really want to re-write the whole thing using code.

We are using InfoPath 2007 with client (not browser form).

Thanks & regards
