So, I'm not sure what version of InfoPath you are using, but if 2007, you can right click on the field and select rules to look at the rules or in IP 2010, select the field and click Manage Rules from the Home tab of the ribbon.

But, really, if they add new rows after the field has been set, they won't have that value. So you may want to use a default value. Just select the field in your repeating table you want to set to the other field (field1 in this case) and right click it. Select the properties. The first tab has the default value setting - you can set it to the value of the field you wish to populate it with. See attached.

Re: TimeStamp Field update

HI

The field I want to copy from (ie field 1 in your example) isn't part of any table. Is it in the same table?

I've attached a sample with a few ideas in it. Save the linked file locally, right click on the saved file and select Design to open in design mode.

Since I'm not quite sure what you need to do, this may not be it, but it should give you a few ideas.

TimeStamp Field update

Hello

I have a timestamp field that I would like to populate from user input. I would like them to only have to put in a time one time but I need it to populate many data items related to that time. All the data items are in one table.

Do you have a way to do that?

thanks
