I'm wondering if anyone can offer any further insight into this for me? I'm still having difficulty working out how to deploy the above solution.

Any step by step instructions or an example form would be greatly appreaciated.

Thank you very much

Thank you so much for your response.

I'm still fairly new to alot of InfoPath and was wondering if you would mind providing me with an example showing the steps that you suggest above so that I can gain a better understanding of how to implement them?

Thank you once again for your time and assistance.

Cheers

The current month can be determined by using the today() function and substring() function to extract the current month. Then you can add a rule that uses this information to select the correct values from the SharePoint list data returned from the data connection.

Hope that helps!

Issue creating a dynamic link between SharePoint list and Infopath form.

I have built an infopath form for one of our divisions for reporting on their daily production. The manager of the division would now like me to develop for him some sort of list or form where he can enter the planned production for the month and then through calculations it will divide this number into daily targets and autopopulate a field in the Infopath form.

The solution that I have come up with (and please feel free to let me know if there is a better way) is to create a simple SharePoint list with fields for the manager to enter the month, the monthly target number, Number of days in the month and number of planned production free days.

I then have a hidden calculated field that subtracts the number of planned production free days from the total number of days in the month and then divides the monthly target by this number thus giving the daily target number.

I then link this daily target field to the daily planned production field in the Infopath form.

This part was easy (and again if I am going about things wrong please feel free to correct me) however I am a little unsure of what to do from here.

Each month the manager needs to create a new SharePoint list item with the targets for that month and that list item needs to populate into every one of the Infopath forms that is submitted for that month.

So for example if we were to create a list item now for January Targets, every day in January when the Infopath forms are filled out it will populate from that list item , then in February we would create a new sharepoint list item and all of the forms for February will need to be populated from it. But the January forms would still need to be linked back to the January SharePoint list item so as not to alter their figures for the month.

Is there any way to create a dynamic link that would preform what I need it to do, I thought perhaps with some sort of SPD workflow?

Cheers
