Just so you know what was happening - the validation rule was using the full XPath to each of the checkbox fields. Since those were in a repeating group, the full XPath would always return the first instance. Moving the field into the repeating group means the formula will be totalling only the checkbox fields inside that instance of the group.

You were soooooooooooooooooo close. Just move the field where you are totalling the checkboxes into your repeating group. I've attached your sample with this change (right click, save locally, right click and select design to open in design mode so you can preview).

Attached is my problem. I need to be able to have the checkboxes be required if a user adds a new section. The current method is not allowing that because of the way the formula works. If anyone has any solutions, I would gladly appreciate it. I am kind of clueless of what to do to get around this. So, please, anyone have anything I would appreciate your time. Thank you in advance.
