I watched those videos just the other day and helped me solve a problem I had been working on for a while.

Much appreciated.

If I may ask for just a little advice?

I was able to to update my REST query with the information from the previous drop-down, but the value is the ID and not the DisplayName. I need to update the URL with the DisplayName from the previous drop down but not sure how to populate the URL with that and not the ID.

I believe I need to write an expression that will do this but not sure how.

Any links to reference material or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Look forward to more videos

thanks again

This was not an easy out of the box solution. No matter what I tried I was not able to return the display name. So I reversed my attempt and setup my lists the other way. Instead of my region being the parent and looking up my locations, I setup a locations list that linked back to regions. Although this allowed the one to many I needed to use the ID for the filter because of the lookup field. I was able to populate a secondary textbox with the location display name, but i am not loving this solution. at least in 07 this was much easier to achieve.

Re: filtered dropdown returning ShP id

Are you using ShP 2010 OData support? Looking at the SP page elements the lookup column has a dispaly name and value and its the value returned to the data source. I figured maybe there was a way to concatenate the entire string and using the string as a data source. It semi worked. Now I get one result. All the ID snad titles are visible. Now I need to figure out a way to parse this string and set each title as a new selection or option in the dropdown. my string looks like this

2354#PVC item;13#Elbows and T's;..

I have a ShP list, the items have multiple lookup fields. so a row item for a region could contain many locations in that lookup field "Location". When applying the filtered data source my location dropdown returns the item ids from the original location list. When populating the values there is no way to select title for display name and ID for value. the only field to select is "Value". the "Value" seems to be the default for all the multiple select items. I can filtr the drop down, but I am only getting the source ID, or parent ID. I cannot figure out how to convert this the the parent Display Name or "Title". I have been trying to add another field to set the location value. Or maybe it is a rule that needs to be Applied.
