Once there, you can use a filter to find the city. You'll have the ID for the user, and the list of IDs, so it's just a filter to get the city name. Make sense?

Populate dropdown from textbox or group

Please forgive me if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find it.

I have a drop down list that I am populating from a sharepoint list with locations and their respective id numbers.

What I want to do is automagically select the current users location. However, the current user location only gives me the id of the location without the name.

Is there any way I can use that id to check the items in the dropdown or the sharepoint list itself to get the full location string?

Example:

user location: 1111

list data:

1110 - Los Angeles
1111 - Orlando
1112 - Austin
1113 - New York
