I've read (and used, thank you!) several posts about how to set a value in the current row based on a preceding-sibling, but what I need to do is set a value based on a set of field values in a subsequent row. Each row has a test id, software version number, various sizing details, a submit date, and a status. When I enter new sizing details for a given software version and hit the "submit" button, a rule sets the submit date on the new row to now(). The status of this row should be set to "current" (either through default value or rule). Once I have submitted a new set of sizing data (submit date is not null), the previous rows for this particular version need a status of "obsolete". So, if a given row's software version = the software version of a row with a later date, this row's status needs to be changed to "obsolete"

Can this be done using default value or a rule (i.e. without code)?
