Most likely this is an IE cache coherence issue. This InfoPath bug exists and happens more frequently than you can imagine.

Please ask the users to close all InfoPath forms and go to Windows->Start and launch InfoPath. They'll get the "Getting Started" dialog. Next, have them select All Forms and find the one that is not opening and click the Remove This Form from the right pane. Close the dialog. Now, have them try to open the file again.

To clear the entire cache, you can open a cmd prompt and type in "infopath.exe /cache clearall".

Happy trails,

Open File Error w/ addition of User Roles Functionality

I recently added User Role functionality to a form created in 2007 but saved in the compatible version for 2003 and it is working as expected for most End-users (whether 2007 or 2003).

However, I have some End-users (in 2003) that recieve an error when they try to open the file that states: InfoPath cannot open the following file: File_Name.xml InfoPath cannot open the form. To Fix this problem, contact your system administrator. Error details state: Form template : http://...... .xsn Your user name or group membership cannot be verified because the forrm's security settings.

Is there a know issue w/ some versions of InfoPath 2003 or a 'MS patch' of some sort that is required to allow this form to be accessable to all the End-Users whether in 2007 or 2003.

Thank you for your consideration,

J
