And I do not want to send the whole form, with sensitive data embedded, but an abreviated form to work with a small subset of data for a specific purpose. As far as I know if you use an email submit it sends the whole form but if you email while viewing the form you can send just a view. I think i saw somewhere that with emailing via code you can select just the view but I am not sure.

A couple options I have come up with.

1. I have another form, which is simpler, opened by the main form, i pass some variable to it, ( or look them up with another query) and then email that form to work witht he data subset.

My issue right now is passing the variables to the other form in a way that I like.

2. I found some code on how to write a text file from Infopath. So in theory could create a custom email(without the attached form) or a small xml file with your subset of data and use it accordingly with email or SharePoint.

Not sure if this helps but maybe can give you some ideas.

Re: Emailing only partial fields from form

Shailaja, it does. But I only want to send certain fields, not the whole form. I read in another discussion group this was possible with code in 2003. I was wondering if anyone knew what that code may be or an example. I dont want to attach the whole form. Plus I have found that if you have a control button to switch between views, that the recipient of the mail is able to switch between views.. I only want them to be able to see the default view I send. thanks. PS> i have heard that in 2007 some of this is solved. However I was wondering how to do this with code in 2003..

thanks

Re: Emailing only partial fields from form

Hello Chuckiecc,
You can create a new view with fields which you would like to send in email and send that view in email.

Hope this helps!
Emailing only partial fields from form

Hi, hopefully someone can help.
