Basically you have to convert from base64 to a byte array and then remove the header that InfoPath adds upon attaching. I'm sure there are plenty of blog posts or tutorials to help you do this that have much more technical information than I'll be able to speel off the top of my head. For instance, here's one from the fellows at Microsoft:
<br /http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2004/03/18/92221.aspx

Extracting Attached files

Hi...Iam new to InfoPath and XML. Forgive me if this question has been already discussed. I searched but did not find anything on it in the Archives.

I am looking at a requirement to programmatically extract data entered via InfoPath. So far, I have a VBScript procedure that traverses the XML DOM reading each node/element and extracting each node/element's text value.

The part I am having difficulty with is extracting any files that were attached via an InfoPath "attachment" control.

Would anyone be able to point me to an example of a procedure that extracts a file attachment that has been embedded in the output .XML file created by InfoPath?

Thank you ahead of time for your help!
