I confirmed it today. I am looking for more flexibility with the CAML file though. Want to use other fields on the Infopath form and point or attach them to the CAML fields to update the SP List. I tried different attributes in the CAML file such as Node, FileRef but could not get it to work. Basically I want to end up with other fields on the form loading between the >< in the XML. Not sure if I'm making any sense or not..

Re: Updating Sharepoint List from InfoPath form

Yes, the article was written for ShP 2003. There have likely been some changes for 2007. You might need to fiddle around a little to see if you can discover the differences. We'd love to hear what they are when you find them.

Alternately, Matt might be able to assist your in discovering what those differences are.

Re: Updating Sharepoint List from InfoPath form

The web service now seems to be connecting to the list but I get an error stating that the value does not fall within expected range. I have followed directions to create a form to update a custom list. The refesh does pull back the list itmes to the form but the submit button to update the list kicks an error message :

The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

Exception of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.SoapServer.SoapServerException' was thrown.
<detail><errorstring xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">
List does not exist.

The page you selected contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user.
</errorstring><errorcode xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/">0x82000006</errorcode></detail>

I assume that the the GUID is not correct but I have tried changing the GUID to include the brackets, not include the brackets, include the dashes, not include the dashes, everyway I can think of to no avail. The GUID looks like this : {10E59E50-26A1-4136-8CD8-4CA21009658D} One final note on this, this is Sharepoint V3. Any ideas ?
