You just have to be sure that in your "template" the exact same value is used for the state/province as corresponds in your state/province lookup.

Re: Importing a list for a drop down

Once again thankyou SHiraz, but once again I have a quick question. Like in my other topic if I have the template for an individual and stateprovince is one of the fields, will it fill out the textdrop or do I need to stick with text fields?

Re: Importing a list for a drop down

Hi and welcome to our forum. The best way is to create a separate XML file with this information and then add it as a Data Source which the dropdown can use. The XML file would look something like:

<StatesProvinces>
<StateProvince>California</StateProvince>
<StateProvince>Oregon</StateProvince>
<StateProvince>Washington</StateProvince>
<StateProvince>British Columbia</StateProvince>
</StatesProvinces>

You of course fill in the rest. Create this in notepad and save the file and rename it with a .XML extension. Then in InfoPath create your dropdown, select to look up options from a data connection, and add in a receive data connection that uses this XML file you created.

Importing a list for a drop down

Hi everyone,
I am adding a drop down box in infopath that has every state and province.
