Where is InfoPath SDK?

I am trying to to to Tools, Form Options, Open and Save, Save behavior, Edit and put in code there for the Save As event. I want the filename to pickup the buyerno, date, and seqno.

I also think it is cool that I get to "talk" to the same person who made the InfoPath tutorial! This requires code. You need to do set the filename in the OnSaveRequest event. The method to use is SetSaveAsDialogFileName. You can also set the default location using SetSaveAsDialogLocation. For more information on using these check in the InfoPath SDK.
Re: populate InfoPath filename to Outlook subject line

Okay, now that I've gotten that to work. The user reminded me that it is not the subject line of Outlook that needs to populate. They want the File Save As to automatically populate based on forms within the field. I'm going to try and figure this out while waiting for a reply. thank you!

Re: populate InfoPath filename to Outlook subject line

Yes, your logic would work for the hyperlink and is useful.

[off topic]
I would encourage you to try to educate users to use the toolbars in the application. I understand how at first you want to make the form self-contained, but there are some things in this new application/form paradigm that InfoPath presents that you will just not be able to work around. I have found it better though hundreds of usability tests to force users through the initial extra 30-seconds of discovering that they're in a rich-client application with toolbars so they discover all the other functionality they need to understand when in InfoPath. Then they are much more successful using all InfoPath forms down the road. My 2-cents. :)

Re: populate InfoPath filename to Outlook subject line

Whoops..you're right. However, the concat logic would work well if you have a hyperlink on the page. I like to build these forms that rely as little as possible on the toolbars of InfoPath. :)

Re: populate InfoPath filename to Outlook subject line

Welcome to our forum kimo and skrile. I think you're looking at how to set the value when clicking the Send to Mail Recipient from the toolbar. To prepopulate those values you have to write a little amount of code in the OnLoad event to set those values.

This post has the basic info you seek:<br /http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=532&SearchTerms=subject,line

Re: populate InfoPath filename to Outlook subject line

You sure can. The trick is to change the Data Source of the hyperlink control to something like this:

concat("mailto:",/@my:email, "?subject=", /my:fileName)

You will have to play with the formatting, but I've done this and it works well.

populate InfoPath filename to Outlook subject line

I have Office 2003 and wondered if I could automatically populate Outlook's subject line with the InfoPath filename when clicking the Send to Mail Recipient within the form? thanks!
