You may be able to somehow do this with Worfkflow in SharePoint but I suspect it is going to require code. Also you have the issue with the repeating data from InfoPath and how that gets stored in your SharePoint library - you can either promote the first, last, count or "merge" (all values in that field sepearated by a hidden LF char). I think this issue alone is going to cause problems creating that list item in SharePoint (does your workflow for example parse out the repeating data?).

We have developed a rather nice solution for this and it's part of our qRules product: http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/qRules.aspx

qRules is code but you don't need to know code to use it - you use the rules in InfoPath to call the code.

One of the commands you should look at is the "SubmitToSharePointList" command which creates a SharePoint list item for each row in your repeating table. Check out this video showing how it's done: http://www.screencast.com/t/NGQ4ZmFlM2Q

We do offer a free trial of qRules so you can try it out and see for yourself.

The form consists of a four-column repeating table. The first column is a textbox control for the user's name. Each of the three remaining columns contains a dropdown list box control. Each list control contains ten entries representing increasing percent increments (10%, 20%, etc. to 100%). The last column is the Growth column. When I published the form template to SharePoint (thereby creating the form document library), I promoted the user's name and Growth columns. I called the document library Assessment.

What I want is to export the data from the user's name field and the Growth column.

In SharePoint, I created a Custom List and called it Rate of Growth. I changed the name of the default Title column to Participant and created a second list column, Growth Rate.

In SharePoint Designer, I created a one-step workflow and attached it to the Assessment library. The workflow consists of a single action: automatically create a list item whenever an item is created in Assessment. I chose Rate of Growth as the list where the item should be created. Basically, what I want is to create a list item that contains the user's name and the Growth % (as shown in the fourth column of the form).

In the Workflow Designer, Create a New List Item, I assigned fields their respective values. For example, I assigned Participant (from Rate of Growth) the user's name (from Assessment). I repeated this process with Growth and Rate of Growth.

And, of course, nothing works. First of all, no list item is created. Second, the workflow doesn't even start. It's as if the workflow doesn't recognize the fields.

I was wondering if anyone has tried to populate a SharePoint list using data from a repeating table in an InfoPath form and, if so, were you successful and, most importantly, how did you do it?

Thanks, Darren.
