Have you taken a look at our qRules tool? http://www.qdabra.com/en/products/qRules.aspx

qRules has a number of commands designed to work with tables and handle repeating tables (inserting data into etc).

While you can do what you need to do with custom code qRules most likely would save you a ton compared to doing it yourself.

I'm building a travel request form and there is an option to allow information on any other travellers to be entered on the form. Using a data connection the user can autopopulate traveller details. For this section of the form i have used a repeating table as the number of fellow travellers can be different. When I try the autopopulate however it only ever takes data from the first user ID.

I then figured it would be better to have a seperate table then have a button that adds the details to the repeating table but I can't find any examples using VBA that work, I tried this one but I got an error when trying to preview the form.

http://www.bizsupportonline.net/infopath2007/programmatically-add-row-repeating-table-xmlwriter.htm

Any ideas?
