"This form cannot be filled out either because you do not have adequate permissions, another user has the form opened or the the form is open in another program.
Do you want to open a read-only version of this form?"

I didn't want the end user to overwrite the .xml so the permissions on the server were Read - only. In order to keep the above from occuring, I set the individual files permission to Read-Only, and infopath(2003) now happily opens it in READ only mode without a popup.

It also allows multiple users to open the same form simultaneously as they don't put a file lock on it upon opening.

This might work for you, or not, it worked for me.

Re: Serve InfoPath Forms dynamically

One thing to be careful of is that adding to Trusted sites will disable managed code from working. Try first adding to Intranet Sites and setting security level there just to be on the safer side.

Re: Serve InfoPath Forms dynamically

Hi Sunflower and welcome to InfoPathDev.com forums.

Have you tried adding the url to the trusted sites within IE?

I could be wrong, but from your description this sounds like it might be a trust issue & Internet Explorer.

Serve InfoPath Forms dynamically

For reasons I won't get into here, I am required to serve Infopath XML documents dynamically through a servlet deployed on a Weblogic Express server.
The XML document is intercepted and the manipulated to point to the Infopath Template, which incidentally is also served dynamically by the servlet.

Effectively, what it gives my users is the ability to invoke Infopath forms from a browser. The web application that provides the url for the Infopath form is a J2EE-based solution.

The technique works. Infopath is launched correctly from IE with the right XML doc and Template file. But I keep getting the message "This form cannot be filled out either because you do not have adequate permissions, another user has the form opened or the the form is open in another program.
Do you want to open a read-only version of this form?"

I can rule out 2 (other user opened the form) as the cause.
I think I can rule out 1 (inadequate permission) as the cause. The same form can be opened with similar XML document from outside of IE.

I can accept to open the form in read-only but can still submit data from the form after that.

Any ideas on what I need to do to suppress the message? It would a great help.
