That did the trick and will do for now. Only problem now is that I want to query the field that has the comma delimited list and because of the , and the space I cant use a simple dropdown for my query selection. Can you think of a rule that will allow for the comma and space? I have a dropdown query field populated from a secondary database table that runs a query of the text field that contains the previous selections that are comma delimited...

Re: combine selections from DDL into one field

One thing you can do is put rules on the DDLs that have no condition and the following acion: concat(yourTextField, ";", .)

this is only a crude solution and I imagine you would require something a bit more sophisticated but it's something to start with.

Issues with this method:
-depending on your rules you may end up with either leading or trailing semi colons.
-it doesn't allow for -changes- in the DDL. the new selection is just added on the end of the old.

You could solve the first issue by having a seperate rule for if yourTextField is blank.
To solve the second issue you may require some code to run a current inventory of selected items and add them to yourTextField.
On reflection this is probably what you've been trying to achieve and what I've suggested is therefore of little help to you.
With any luck you'll get a response from those in the know.

combine selections from DDL into one field

I am trying to create one field which contains all the selections from a dropdown list that is in a repeating table.

When users select an item from the dropdown it gets entered into a field. When users select insert a new item and select from that dropdown that item gets added to the other field separated by some kind of delimiter like a semicolon or something....

Anyone know how to do this?
