Does your Web Service pass the credentials to SQL? You could test Qdabra's DBXL which pulls data from SQL and does impersonate the user correctly. Free download on the Qdabra site. Probably a 15 minute exercise (disclaimer: Qdabra is the sponsor of this free forum). Otherwise, you'll need to look at the code for your Web Service.

Happiest of trails,

access denied problem

i have an infopath form that has a number of dropdown controls populated from a sql server database.

when the data connections are set within the form then users can access this form fine. ie the username/password are set directly in the connection wizard.

however when i tried replacing these feeds with calls to a web service the users could no longer access the form.. but get an access denied error for each method, even though the username / password is the same in the web service method connection string as used in the direct connections before.

i see the same type of error if i was to use a windows connection in the connection wizard rather then the infopath user account that was created.

does anyone know why the web service methods are not working?
