I have 2 views. One for the actual form and one for the "print view". Both forms are comprised of 15 fields (2 date boxes, 3 dropdowns and 10 text boxes). My data entry form is formatted so it looks "pretty" and my print view is very sparce and all the elements are positioned carefully since i have to print into specific areas on those cards.

I should also mention that right now i only want to print one card. So the desired effect would be to print the first card (which it does nicely) then form feed just enough so that it is ready for the second card. It would have to move up only about 5 inches... right now it is moving about 11 or so.

I have tried doing View Properties -> Page Setup and then changing the paper size. I've done some research on wikipedia regarding the various standard sizes (A5, A2 for example). So far, none of those have worked. I also have a bunch of entries called custom 1, custom n (custom 1-20) that i have no idea what size they represent. Any ideas there?

I have also tried creating my own size by going to Start -> Printers and Faxes -> (click on the printer) -> File -> Server Properties and then defining a new form. However, this newly created form size doesn't show up in my InfoPath Paper Size selection box on my Print View... what gives with that?

Anyway, thanks for your responses. I hope i can get this resolved soon or the bosses will make me move on to another solution.

Re: How do I tell the printer not to form feed?

What does your InfoPath form look like that is printing to these cards? I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be too hard to do by simplying tweaking the spacing between each "card".

One option would be to check out the Page Setup tab of the View Properties (double-click on the view in the views task pane). And play around with the paper size and page margins. If you got this going good then you could ensure that the card would print to the next page by inserting a page break line (Insert -> Page Break).

Could you tell us a little bit more about the layout of controls and stuff on your form?

---------------
Matt Faus
InfoPath Dev Texas
How do I tell the printer not to form feed?

Hello, I have an InfoPath form that will fill out an insurance card on a dot matrix printer. The printer uses a card stock that has three cards to a "sheet". Each card is about 3 inches high and about 5 inches wide. Unfortunately i have to print on this paper.

I can print the first card with no trouble. However, after the first card is printed, the printer feeds up about 2 cards and screws everything up. It's basically like printing the first card and then twisting the form feed knobs a few times.

How can I tell it to not do the paper feed and position its self for the next card?

So far i've tried playing around with the paper sizes (A5, B5) and haven't had any luck. Any ideas? Anyone know what the custom(1-20) paper sizes are?

Thanks very much for any help you can provide!!
