I just created a simple InfoPath form with no data connections or code behind, signed it, set it to full trust & published it as a content type. Same problem; it works fine in IE 7, in IE 8 I can open it directly from the published location, but am unable to open it by using a link to it. If I republish it as "Automatically determine the security level" I can open it from a link, but I need full trust because my real form has code behind.

Any other ideas?

Re: What's the difference between opening a form directly from the document library where it is published and opening it from a link?

In IE7, was the site in Local Intranet? What zone is it now in IE8? It sounds like the website where the form is hosted might have changed IE security zones...

What's the difference between opening a form directly from the document library where it is published and opening it from a link?

I have an InfoPath 2007 form that has been published as a content type with full trust. It has been in place for well over a year with no problems. Recently I upgraded my computer to IE 8 and am now running into a strange problem. I cannot open the form from a link. If I try opening the form from a link, it gives me the message, "InfoPath cannot create a new, blank form. InfoPath cannot open the form. To fix this problem, contact your system administrator." "The form template is trying to access files and settings on your computer. InfoPath cannot grant access to these files and settings because the form template is not fully trusted. For a form to run with full trust, it must be installed or digitally signed with a certificate." However, the form is fully trusted - all the other users can open it via the link. If I uninstall IE 8 I can open it from the link. I can, however, browse to the document library where the template for the form is published, click on the template & it will open - no error message. If instead of clicking on the template, I right-click on it, copy the shortcut & paste the shortcut into the address bar in IE 8, I get the error message about full trust.

Does anyone know why this is happening? And more importantly, how I can prevent it from happening?

I tried publishing the form as an administrator approved form to see if that would make a difference, but it did not.
