To do that check out this thread:http://infopathdev.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1258 . After that is done, you can display your drop-down values as either a drop-down list or a repeating table. If you put a control on the view and link it to the same node that you pull the drop-down list values from you can easily add (or subtract) options from the drop-down. However, you might want to look into some kind of script or conditional formatting to keep users from deleting options that you do not want deleted.

Hope this helps!

---------------
Matt Faus
InfoPath Dev Texas
Re: Dropdown lists

Hi Sumeet, why aren't you working with a hidden textbox which unhides as lang as it isn't blank and hide the ddl when it isn't blank? When you open your form your ddl will apear and as soon as the user selects an item the list box will apear with the selected entry. Hope I got you right.

Dropdown lists

Hi guys,

I need to make a form on which there is the drop down list and there are already some values in that list but the user should also be able to simply type in whatever he wants in the list. I don't think that by default that is possible but does anybody know how to do it. I mean I could add an "others" option in the drop down list which would show up a hidden text box in which I could then let the user add whatever data he wants but I wanted to ask whether somebody had done something like this and whether someone could please suggest a better way to do this.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Sumeet
