I concatenated all of the score attributes, then set a rule to say that if the concatanation contained a 5 then the score is 5. If the concatenation did not contain a 5 and contained a 4, then the score was 4, etc.

Scoring an answer, and obtaining an overall score

Hi

I have a questionnaire where each option answer for a question has a score. i.e. if the question is: "What day is it?" Answer "Monday" scores 1; Answer "Tuesday" scores 2; Answer "Wednesday" scores 3; etc

I can calculate the value of each question by using rules, and making the rules populate a score attribute for each question.

The problem I have is that I need to calculate the overall score. Now the overall score is the highest value answer that has been given for any question, so if in the above example "Wednesday" was chosen the highest score would be 3. However, if a subsequent question was asnwered, and the option answer had a score of 5, then the overall score would be 5.

I considered using an "overall score" field and using rules to push the answer in if the value was higher than the current "overall score" value, but the problem with this solution is that if a user selects "Wednesday" the overall score becomes 3, but if the user then selects "Tuesday" on the same question, the overall score would remain as 3, when it should actually be 2.

I hope this makes some sense. Thanks in advance.
