I think I'm confused, but I wonder if you could have a repeating section with a page break at the top. Each section has a repeating table bound to same location in schema but with different display offset (this might require some trickiness). Clicking the hack button just inserts another repeating section, page break, header and all. Not sure if this would work though.

Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP]
InfoPathDev

Re: Repeating table... I would rather leave it out if I can at the moment as I'm just starting. I mean having a repeating section with a nested page break and then my table with the header nested too... Then when the size of the page gets too big I can just click repeat section... I know its a bit lame but it will work until I have time to do some proper code.

The problem is when I click on the new section tab it clones the table structure nested inside it. Is there any way to just create a default instance with just the header and a blank row?

Thanks for your time,

Adam Smith - Tutor @ Barnfield

Re: Repeating table... The false means that you will be cloning without "deep" mode. However, when you clone using this method you will have to manually .appendChild() all of the children of the section that you want to see displayed. Alternatively, you can go ahead and use the .cloneNode(true), copy all substructures under the node you are cloning, and then overwrite all of the copied nodes (to blank if you like).

I think .cloneNode( true ) with overwrite would be a little easier because you will be doing less cloning and more read/write.

If you're not asking about copying using code, I'm not sure that I understand your question.

---------------
Matt Faus
Re: Repeating table... Ill have a read then but im definately looking forwards to that topic!

Just a side thought... If I control the page breaks manually by using a repeating section with a page break at the top and a repeating table nested within the section too - when I make a new section it will put a page break in and a new table..

I tried this but it makes a copy of the previous section.. information and all! Just for the moment do you know how to make a 'default' section appear and not a copy of the previous section appear?

Thanks!

Adam Smith - Tutor @ Barnfield College

Re: Repeating table...
