Here's a video demo that shows how the command works. To get you started on the command, please see the documentation: How to Use the SaveToSharePoint qRules Command.

Hope that helps!

Re: Attaching files - what is the best solution

Hi there, yes you can send the file to a SharePoint library and change it to a hyperlink. In fact our qRules tool has the feature built in already.

As you will find, letting users attach something in the document can bloat the form anyway. There are not built in InfoPath tools to limit file size so a user can attach mutliple documents in a form and the XML size can get quite large since InfoPath converts the file attachment to an uncompressed blob in the form. Use the qRules command to upload to SharePoint will help with form performance as well.

Hope that helps

Most information will be submitted to a database

additionally the form is likely to get emailed around and printed off.

The form will update itself from the db each time it is opened to ensure it has the most up to date data.

The form will need to handle attachments. Some of these are legal documents and will have been printed out and signed by two parties, then scanned in.

Adding a file attachment control is easy, however these attachments need to be saved to a scentral location and be able to be retreived easily at a later date. I am guessing a sharepoint document library would suffice.

I am not really sure where to go once the attachment is attached as the form would not be able to be updated with other documents attached by other people when it was next opened.

Is it possible to send the file to a sharepoint library and change the file attachment to be a hyperlink?

Or does anyone have a better idea of what to do?
