I am creating a trouble ticket log where the first row must alway contain the action of opening the ticket. I am trying to set the field, actiontype, in the first row to always be "Open". I first tried to make a rule to set the value of a field with a condition position()=1, but this is not a valid expression. I next created a field with a default value of position(), but as stated in earlier posts, the value of the field would not increment at all.

At wits end

Re: Position() bug?

quote:
Originally posted by Taffman

Obvious when I think about it now ;-)

I think that's why I was so confused. You say it's working great and then you go to another view and it's different? Are you performing any actions on the node while switching views? Are you using an expression box or actually storing the numbering a node?

Re: Position() bug?

I'm having a simular problem with position()
I'm using position() to indicate the number of a repeating table, therefore each repeated table see position increment by 1 which is great.

I a print view of the document I want to retain this numbering however all I get is a sequential number.

e.g. In a repeating section called Country, I have a repeating section called Site and a repeating table within that with order details.

Re: Position() bug?

works perfectly.
