I am introducing a new document that is to be saved in this system that is created in InfoPath. I am saving a copy of the Infopath document as a file which is then filed in the repository.

Everything works fine until some goes to the repository which is all web-based and selects the new Infopath document link which is in the form of something like "\\repository\engineering\ms051.xml".

The problem is when the link is selected Explorer opens the document as an xml document not as an Infopath document. If the document is saved to the local machine then double-clicked it works just fine. I can't find any file association changes that I can make in Explorer to undo this behaviour. I am not seeking an IE viewer but rather having IE launch InfoPath like it does for Word or Excel within an IE window. Any ideas?
