Options are :-

1.) Promote the cut across fields from form 1 as list items in the library, then connect to the form library as a data connection from form 2 just as you connect to any other sharepoint list. Presumably you have a common key that you could use to get the correct data into form 2.

2.) write the data to a completely separate list in sharepoint using web services and connect again as a data connection from form 2. This option keeps the cut across data discreet and on a clean list.

If the data in form 1 is repeating in anyway option 2 is probably the best way.

Re: How to reuse submitted info in a section in one form into another form (with Sharepoint help)?

qRules is just code, so theoretically you could write custom code to pass values from one form to another. Here at Qdabra I've encountered a similar scenario twice, but on both occasions I used our own products to achieve this. A long time ago I had a similar scenario and used DBXL, and more recently, I used qRules. I don't know if those links help, but if you find a simpler way I'll be interested in learning so I can use it myself. Thanks.

How to reuse submitted info in a section in one form into another form (with Sharepoint help)?

I have multiple forms (clients multiple orders for goods) created and uploaded in sharepoint libraries in one site. i am using infopath 07 (but most users are using ifnopath 03)

I would like to use information submitted in one section of form # 1 (in our example the client contact details) to repeat in another form in the same library (so that the user doesnt have to retype the main information about this client in another form again everytime they complete a new form). there is one unique identifier number for each client (if that helps).

does anyone have any ideas on how to collect this filled out info from one form and reuse in another form easily?

let me know if not clear!

thanks
