I suppose you could do some kind of polling from the taskpane to count ticks and then call a function in the form to submit and close. The taskpane should support the full jscript dictionary. You could show the countdown in it too. :) Good luck!

Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP]
InfoPathDev

Form Timeout

Hi there,

Javascript has a method called setTimeout("functionname", timeout).

I'm programming the infopath backend using JavaScript, but it seems that it doesnt support the aforementioned setTimeout functionality.

I want to set a timeout mechanism so that when one user opens a form too long, it will automatically submit and close the form.

Does anyone know how to achieve the similar result in infopath jscript?

Thanks.
