Just add another text box control and set conditional visibility to hide the dropdown if it's set to the "I'm not listed" and display the read-only text control with the e-mail address. Should be a piece of cake. Designer will look weird since you'll have two controls side by side, but runtime will be fine since you only ever have one of the forms showing.

Retrieve data from XML file

Hi all,

I have a drop down list box on my form which receives data from an XML file (Users Name) and it automatically populates the users e-mail address in a read only text box.

The first option in the drop down list is "I'm not listed" and if the user selects this option the e-mail box opens up for write access allowing the user to enter their e-mail address manually.

The form is then e-mailed off via a data connection and the user is CC'd in based on the e-mail address populated in the e-mail box.

When the form is received and the option is "I'm not listed" and the form is opened the e-mail field is blank, presumably because it's looking back at the XML file and see's the "I'm not listed option" has no e-mail address next to it. Is there anyway for me to say if the user is "I'm not listed" not to look at the XML file?

Regards

Chris
