Navigate to Controls in the taskpane. Drag a Hyperlink control to your view. The hyperlink properties dialog will appear. Enter k:\dpma\intek.xls in the Link To/Address field. Put a display name in the Display/Text field (for example "Intek Data". Click OK on the dialog and preview the form. You should be able to click on the link and Excel will open.

Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP]
InfoPathDev

Re: Open an Excel File from Infopath

K:\DPMA\Intek.xls

Re: Open an Excel File from Infopath

Hi again,
What is the path of the file on the shared drive?

Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP]
InfoPathDev

Re: Open an Excel File from Infopath

Hi Patrick and thank you so very much for replying. If you need to modify the link, you could set your link to a field and change it as the result of some other change on your form (using rules or code).

Patrick Halstead [InfoPath MVP]
InfoPathDev

Open an Excel File from Infopath

I would like to have a button, or some other method, on a form that allows a user to open an Excel file on the shared drive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

-Dennis
